ICDevents Releases Powerful Agenda for Fifth Annual Patient Experience Symposium

Industry thought leaders pack the lineup for the three-day live and five-week virtual healthcare event, returning to Boston in September 2021

BOSTON – (May 13, 2021) – Driven by the rising patient share of healthcare costs and new assertive activism by patients, hospitals and clinics are discovering that there is a new sheriff in town. As healthcare issues ebb and flow with political partisanship and competing legislation, along with equity issues and telehealth's rise during a pandemic, patients continue to demand an improved healthcare experience, and their assessments matter now more than ever.

Building on the four-year success of the highly acclaimed four prior conferences, the fifth annual Patient Experience Symposium will bring leading healthcare practitioners and administrators to Royal Sonesta Boston September 20-22, 2021, for three days of keynotes, case studies, and in-depth, hands-on workshops designed to help improve the patient experience. In addition to the live conference, all delegates will have access from September 23 through October 29 to view sessions they may have missed, brand new speakers and topics, continued networking with colleagues met at the conference, podcast studio, bookstore, and much more. Educational credits will be offered. All recommended health and safety protocols will be in place for the live event. For those who cannot travel to Boston, an option to register for the virtual-only conference is also an option.

“We’re thrilled to be back to a live format this year, as well as offer the content virtually to a broader audience,” says Bill Doherty, Conference Director. “Our goal is to ensure that all patient experience stakeholders have the opportunity to access and engage with this critical content.”

"This Symposium brings together outstanding voices from many disciplines, all to help healthcare providers, administrators, and allied professionals to improve medical care by optimizing the patient experience. The presenters challenge the brain and touch the heart", says conference co-chair Bob Baker, MD, author of Performance of Medicine: Techniques from the Stage to Optimize the Patient Experience and Restore the Joy of Practicing Medicine.

The most diverse group of speakers in the Symposium's history will enable provider organizations and their professionals to adjust to the new power that resides in the patient's hands, ultimately improving outcomes and patient satisfaction. These visionary speakers will share best practices, tools to overcome systemic obstacles, and their accounts of working in a healthcare system that has too long been resistant to change.

The strong lineup of visionary speakers includes:

· Stephen K. Klasko, MD, MBA, President, Thomas Jefferson University; CEO, Jefferson Health

· Thomas D. Sequist, MD MPH, Chief Patient Experience and Equity Officer, Partners HealthCare System

· Brian R. Carlson, VP Patient Experience, Vanderbilt University Medical Center

· Charlotte S. Yeh, MD, Chief Medical Officer, AARP Services, Inc
