Hearing loss is a barrier to patient-provider communication and contributes to sensory isolation. As such, hearing loss is associated with poorer health care outcomes and poorer experiences in the health care system. In this session, we will explore the latest research in this area and consider whether hearing care may modify outcomes.
Identify potential pathways through which hearing loss may impact health care outcomes
Discuss the current state of literature on how hearing is associated with health care outcomes
Describe potential sustainable solutions to addressing hearing loss in health care settings
