Erin holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling and is committed to combining her personal experiences as a mother of a child with complex medical needs with her professional skills to work towards improving patient-professional partnerships. Erin serves as a patient/family partner and engagement consultant for a variety of healthcare projects and non-profits organizations including:
Patient Partner for the Boston Children’s Hospital team participating in the AHRQ-sponsored
Harvard Chan School-led Engineering High Reliability Learning Lab focusing on improving the complex spine surgical process for patients
Parent Partner for a Franciscan Children’s Hospital PCORI research project
Board of Directors and Patient & Family Chair at the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative.
Erin also serves as Family Faculty for the Institute for Professionalism and Ethical Practice, Boston Children’s Hospital.
Previously, Erin worked with the Center for Families at Boston Children’s Hospital where she coordinated the Family Initiatives program and developed a Family Advisory Board for the Complex Care Service Department. Erin is also the Co-Founder and President of MTM-CNM Family Connection Inc., a non-profit for her son’s rare disease. Erin’s healthcare interests include promoting patient-professional partnerships, improving the transition of care from hospital to home, care coordination, and supporting inclusion of individuals with complex health needs in schools and communities.
