Janae Sharp is a connector and a lifelong learner. She is a suicide loss survivor and has continued to work in translating between healthcare needs and technologies.
Janae Sharp is the founder of the Sharp Index, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing physician suicide and burnout. After her former husband died by suicide, she noted the disconnect with physician burnout. If our healers are not able to be healthy, our health system will fail. With a background in healthcare IT and patient engagement, she decided to start contributing to the solution. The Sharp Index addresses solutions to help healthcare systems quantify and fix organizational problems that lead to Physician Burnout. They also host a scholarship and awards for people working in burnout and encourage healthcare IT companies to improve. Janae Sharp is a connector and an idealist, working to empower everyone to contribute in the face of large organizational failings. The belief that healthcare is a human right should extend to physicians, and when we invest in them, it is good for patients, families, business, and healing.
Janae Sharp serves on the boards of Utah HIMSS, Lightning Bolt Solutions and Inside Digital Health. She has served as a social media ambassador for InterSystems and HIMSS national and believes social media is a tool to facilitate healing and connection. She loves working with companies to use social media to share their message and enable improvement. The more we eliminate barriers in communication, the faster we can heal.
